Our favourite song of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is defintely the Romanian Entry. The song is Mandinga and it is performed by the wonderful singer Zaleilah. The video shows her performing the song live at the first semi final of Eurovision 2012. We actually they should have cut some of the beginning section of the tune to get to the chorus quicker but that is only a tiny criticism....

This video was recorded at a live concert in Japan in 1992. It shows the Pat Metheny Group with possibly it’s finest line-up playing possibly it’s best tune. It’s proper fusion-jazz (not all out fusion obviously) with all of it’s extrovert orchestrations and difficult arrangements.
